I am a former 5th grade teacher who made a career change to become a pastry chef.  I went to the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and now I’m the pastry chef at Elements Restaurant and Bar in Santa Barbara, CA(  I create and prepare all of the desserts for the restaurant and its catering events, but I also love to make cakes on the side.  Check out this site for pictures and information of my work, as well as my contact information if you are interested in placing an order.

Some people are curious about the name of this site.  I experiment with a lot of recipes at home and my husband is always a willing taste-tester.  Some things turn out well and others are best thrown away.  I always know I have a winning recipe when my husband turns to me and says, “Mmmm…this is the real deal!”
